Fruit Snacks

All I can say is DON'T mess with the fruit snacks. I can take a way toys and it's no big deal but fruit snacks are good stuff. (I've been asked a couple of times...Tyler just plays with the package he can't eat the fruit snacks.)

Misc Updates

Swimming
Week 5: Tyler's best week yet! So much fun!
Week 6: Very good week. We had a substitute instructor and she was so impressed by Tyler she called him Michael Phelps (she retracted due to bad press he's received.) He is pretty comfortable with dunking. I wouldn't say he likes or dislikes it but is indifferent.
I should have used video. Tyler is splashing away.
I let Tyler try a biter biscuit to see how he would do. I wasn't sure but he qualified as being ready according to the box. He LOVED it! He gobbled it up.
Tyler has been taking more chances when standing. He often holds on with just one hand; lets go for a second and grabs back on. Here he turned around from the toy basket and has his tush leaning on the basket. And he didn't ask me for any help. I think its kind of cute when he reaches out for my hand when he wants to do something but needs help. Tyler finally started sitting from a laying position. This picture is post his first time. The empty puff container was worth it I guess. Previously he would sit from crawling or standing but never laying.
Studying his DVD.
Relaxing with Grandpa Owen. We gave Tyler one of our old cell phones and he doesn't try to get his hands on our phones as much. We have a tray in the center of our ottoman and Tyler knows I usually keep my cell phone there. He loves to climb up and get it.
Tyler about to take out all his toys.
Tyler is getting pretty good at signing 'more' and 'milk'. His hands aren't quite right but he is getting closer and is consistent. Here is a video. He does this between almost every bite. He fully understands 'milk' but I don't think he fully understands 'more' because I mostly use it while eating so I think he understands it more as 'eat' than 'more'. I will need to use it more in other situations. It's fun watching him. He doesn't show it in this video but he often smiles and has a look of accomplishment while making the signs.

I should take a video but Tyler has gotten really good at turning the page for us while we read him stories. For a while now he has tried and done ok but recently he's gotten it mastered. He just patiently waits and listens until we give him his cue to turn the page!

SLEEP!!!

We are all sleeping good at night again!! Tyler had gone through a couple of weeks waking up constantly. Every night he would go to sleep great in his bed but would wake up in a couple of hours wanting nothing but to be held. We let him try to cry it out and followed all the rules. After several hours of no give I let him sleep with us (which I loved). This was the routine for a few days before he finally started being able to sleep in his bed again all night. For a few days this was still rough because he was still waking up but we were able to get him back to sleep in his bed. Now we are all sleeping through the night good again and much happier in the morning.

Tyler has been falling asleep in some of the strangest positions lately. Here are a couple of pics. (I moved him back after a took the picture to make sure he could breath.)

A Little Emotional

Lately I've been a little emotional. Incredibly happy because Tyler is so much fun and learning a hundred things a day. But...as he is learning so much I am reminded that he is growing up. I get excited to think of all the fun times to come but also want to keep Tyler little. I worry that I'll blink and he'll be too old to want to cuddle...which I love and will miss.

Welcome Kaylee!!

Isn't Kaylee Elizabeth adorable! She was born Jan 27th.
Allison is a proud big sister!

1st Haircut

We took Tyler in for his first haircut. We didn't let her take too much off but he was getting a little long over the ears and had a major comb over. The comb over was really what we concentrated on getting rid of. When we first put him in the F150 he did not like what was going on.
30 seconds later after he got his cape and realized the truck was fun we were ready.
Tyler was a little unsure of what she was doing at first.
But then sat up straight and she said he was more well behaved than most kids she gets!
No more comb over!!
Tyler got a certificate and a bag with some of his hair.

Dinner!!

My Aunt Linda and Uncle Mike asked Dan to come over and help them with some of their electronics. Tyler and I also benefited with an afternoon of play and a wonderful dinner!

Tyler Misc

For a while now Tyler has been able to put the basketball in the hoop. Getting the basketball in the hoop however isn't what Tyler enjoys. He likes watching the scoreboard. Well, he's realized he can skip putting the ball in the hoop and just press the button inside to get the same results.
This was so funny! Tyler was blowing bubbles but working really hard at it.
This was the last time Tyler helped me with laundry. He's already decided it's not much fun.
Dan was tickling Tyler.
After nap Tyler wasn't quite ready to wake up and snuggled in with my phone.
So the crawling adventure has been fun so far but I am very mixed on the climbing. This is Tyler showing his skills and requesting to be taken out of bed.
But it is a lot of fun to watch him climb on us and furniture. He's walking along the ottoman to get a toy.
Here he comes!!
Entering the tunnel.
Peek-a-boo through the window.
Making my way through.
Deciding to turn around. (I had gone to the other side.)
Made it through! Thanks aunt Stephanie for the fun tunnel!
Tyler has really been enjoying his drum from Uncle Sam. He's getting quite the beat!
Someday Tyler will realize that it's easier to push the truck on its wheels.
Tyler loves that he can get his toys out of the basket by himself now.
He didn't understand why I needed his attention for a picture. He was busy!
This picture was the first time I let Tyler feed himself with the spoon. He did pretty good. He was of course messy but not as bad as I expected but I'm sure it will get worse.

Swimming

Swimming classes are about half over. Below is a summary of the first 4 weeks:

Week 1: The first half of class Tyler was splashing, kicking, and being very happy and playful. There was a maternity class next to us and they told us that they hoped that their little ones will enjoy the water as much as Tyler. Then it took a turn for the worse. We were doing a dunking exercize for the older kids. For Tyler's age we could just splash water, dunk his chin, whatever we felt comfortable with. Dan dunked Tyler. He didn't intead to and wished he didn't because Tyler didn't like it at all. The rest of the class he was more mellow and clingy. This picture is post dunk.

Week 2: Tyler was super playful and happy the whole class!

Week 3: Tyler was a bit fussy and very clingy most of the class. To be fair class starts at the time he would normally start getting ready for bed. We took a late class so Dan could come. This particular morning Tyler work up a 5 instead of 7. I tried to keep him up for his normal nap times so he wouldn't be exhausted at night but he was too tired.

Week4: Was much better than week 3 but Tyler still wasn't at par (He had plenty of sleep today). He was somewhat playful but was still a bit clingy and didn't seem to enjoy himself as much as earlier weeks.
