Toddler Bed
Tyler is now sleeping in his toddler bed. Initially, he was super excited and knew this was a big boy step. However, when it came to actually sleeping in the bed it took till day 3 for him to stay in bed and not go to the door. I'm sure there will be struggles going forward but it's an exciting step.

Grandma Schaus Birthday
Grandma and Grandpa Schaus came down to go to a Brewers game and the zoo for Grandma Schaus's birthday. Below Tyler is smashing the oreo's for her cake.

It was a beautiful day at the zoo.
This visit to the zoo Tyler had a couple of fun firsts. He saddled up for his first pony ride!
It was a beautiful day at the zoo.
This video is Dan teaching Tyler to feed a goat...he was a little distracted by the train which he also loves.
We got the level out to check something and Tyler decided he should check all the walls, cabinets, etc around the house. It is very cute watching him.
This Tiger remains Tyler's favorite stuffed animal.

Poor Little Guy
Tyler had a rough couple of days this week. He has three top teeth coming in and others looking not too far behind. He had a pretty high fever and for the most part just wanted to cuddle and relax. I enjoyed the cuddling but felt bad for the little guy. He wasn't very fussy...just didn't want to run around as much as usual. Baby Motrin offered some relief and he only wanted to eat soft foods. Luckily he was feeling better by the weekend and got to play with some friends on Saturday. We can't believe that until now that he only had two teeth.

This week Tyler also started refusing to sit in his high chair. If you could get him in the chair he wouldn't stay sitting...even strapped in. I guess he needs shoulder straps. We found, however, that he will sit in his booster seat. I hate to admit it but I think some of this indepenence or stubborness comes from his mother. Reading the journal that my mom kept I discovered I did the same thing.

Dorn Family Campout 2009
This year for the Dorn Family Campout the family traveled to Northern Wisconsin to my Aunt Sarah and family's home. They have a beautiful house in the woods across from a lake! We had fun filled days of swimming, hiking, games, delicious food, campfires, and best of all great company! We had one trip to the emergency room and my cousin was much braver getting his stiches than I would have been. A huge thank you to my Aunt Sarah and family for opening their home to the whole family and to all my aunts for cooking up such wonderful meals for us to eat. Tyler had so much fun playing with everyone and we look forward to next years campout!
