Father's Day/Retirement Party

We spent Father's day at a park celebrating incredibly wonderful fathers and my Aunt Teri's retirement!
Cora was jealous that grandpa was spending time with Bryce. Bryce LOVES to stand and can support himself for a short time. He of course needs help to balance though.
Grandpa helped Tyler climb his first tree! He wanted to do it over and over...
Tyler learned how to talk on the phone from his father!
We got a bunch of strawberries to dehydrate. Yum!
Tyler enjoying cookies with his cute lunch date!

soccer, trains, and jets

Tyler started soccer last weekend! It was a little crazy but not as much as I would have expected with 2 and 3 year olds. It is a child & parent class and the coach (with the parents help) was able to keep the class fairly structured. Last week was filled with learning drills, listening to directions, taking turns, etc. Tyler did ok with the drills...mostly enjoyed just running around. The class goes through the summer and we are excited!
Thomas the Train made a trip to Green Bay last weekend. A good excuse to go up and visit Grandma and Grandpa Schaus. We got to take a ride in the train. It was nice but Dan was disappointed that the only part that resemebled Thomas the Train was what you see in the picture. The rest of the train was just a regular train. There were other fun activities also including storytime, art projects, tattoos, etc.
Bryce was mesmorized by the fan.
We didn't go to the air show but watched the Blue Angels practice on the roof of Dan's work. Between the speed of the jets and slow shutter on my phone camera it was hard to get a good picture.

pool

Not only did the boys and I survive our first trip to the pool but we had a great time! I was so worried...as it turned out for no reason. We went with friends so I wasn't completely alone but they each had two or three kids to watch themselves. Tyler made it a little easier on me because he spent a lot of the time in the sand.

doctor check-ups

Bryce had his 2 month check-up and is doing great. He is 23 1/2 inchs tall (75%) and weighs in at 14lb 14 oz (95%)...the boy likes to eat! He got a few shots and was not happy about them for the rest of the night. It broke my heart to hear his pain cry but even more to hear his sad wimper as he fell asleep. :( Happy news is that yesterday and today Bryce was awake during a car ride without screaming. It took us awhile to discover his dislike for car rides because he was usually sleeping. Lately he's made it VERY clear. Otherwise Bryce is very happy. We are enjoying his smiles and 'talking'.
Below is Tyler in the car seat also at 2 months.
Tyler had his 2 year check-up and is also doing great. He is 35 inches tall (60%) and weighs in at 26 lbs 4 oz (25%). We are enjoying this learning stage with Tyler. His vocabulary, ability to comprehend ideas, and overall development is fascinating to watch. He continues to be such a loving and understanding big brother...which we do not take for granted.
.
Tyler insisted on wearing his winter hat despite the 80 degree weather. Dad loves it when he dresses himself as such and references the movie "Big Daddy"...
I will never understand boys. Here Tyler is looking for spiders...

weekend fun

Despite all the rain this weekend we were able to spend some time outdoors. A couple of BBQs, walks, and outdoor play.

Tyler gave Bryce his first wagon ride!

LOVE how happy Bryce is looking at daddy!
Friends came over for a BBQ.

My Grandma with her favorite great-grand kids...ok her only great-grand kids.
