Dan, Nicole, Tyler, Bryce, & Dylan: Michigan Trip

Every year since we got married we have taken a little trip for our anniversary. It's been a great tradition so far. This year we decided to see what the Michigan side of Lake Michigan was like. We stayed at a different place each night and toured along the coast. It was a lot of fun! Even though it's an "anniversary" trip we brought Tyler because we wanted to and figured why not. Tyler did great the whole time but he loves to be out and about so we weren't too worried. Tyler's growing independance meant he wanted to do a lot on his own but we weren't in a hurry and enjoyed watching him. Here's to another wonderful year!!

Our favorite part of the trip was walking the dunes so that will take up most of the post and everything else just got thrown in at the end. We got a few odd looks for taking Tyler accross the Dunes but we had lots of sunscreen and water and he loved it! I'm not sure how far the walk was but it took us a little over an hour (each way) but walking in the sand and forest was slow and we took our time.

We're getting closer!

Through the forest and we will be at Lake Michigan. This was kind of an adventure because there weren't good paths to follow. We would start on a path and it would end so we would have to find another but we figured it out.

We made it to the lake!

The beach was about a 1/2 mile walk along the shore. We stayed here and played a little and had a snack. We were pleased to have this area to ourselves. Since there wasn't a good path I imagine anyone who took the journey probably ended up in different areas. Then we walked to the beach and then back across the dunes. It was a lot of fun!
